While this doesn’t apply to EVERYONE.
I see a majority of you guys still doing this.
See, I understand that everyone wants to get to places they need to get to places.
See, I don’t give a shit that you’re in high school or elementary school. (Elementary school kids shouldn’t get on the CTA by themselves often anyways, I personally don’t think it’s safe especially when they’re younger than 12. You all can have your opinions, but honestly, it confuses me when I see a child who is at the age of what, 8 or 9 running up and down the bus and no one is looking out for them. o_o Plus it’s bad if someone kidnaps them. We don’t need more cases on that than we do now.)
See, I don’t give a shit you wanna be near your friends and talk and chat while heading to your destination.
However, I’ve noticed that you kids, yes I said kids, have no common sense or manners. Yes, I only graduated from a CPS high school not long ago. But fucking shit, I have the common sense when I get the bus to MOVE.
Learn some fucking etiquette. Like many others and myself, I have to take public transportation to get to my college campus. And I would like to get there on time.
But the next time I see one of you kids getting on the CTA, bus more so than the train, you better either SIT down in a seat or MOVE to the back so you don’t fucking clutter up the front of the bus. ESPECIALLY when you SEE people STILL trying to get on. I don’t give a flying rat’s ass if your friend is sitting in a chair that’s next to the back exit of the bus. Don’t just fucking stand there when there’s like empty standing space in the last/back half of the Bus.
If you see like 20 other people at the front of the bus trying to get on and YOU are the ONLY one standing there making it OBVIOUSLY DIFFICULT for THEM to get on. God damnit, MOVE! You’re fucking old enough to walk, you’re not a child, you’re old enough not to be told when you move.
And mother of god when I turn around my seat to STILL see you just move an inch to let others go AROUND you just so they can get space while you remain standing there. IF YOU DON’T WANT TO BE SEPARATED FROM YOUR FRIEND, TOO BAD. Other people need to use the CTA too, and either YOU move or BOTH of you move.
And what the flying tuna fish is wrong with you kids who take the seats up front where it’s meant for elderly/disabled people. THERE IS A SIGN THERE ON THE CHAIR FOR A REASON.
See, I understand if you get on the bus, there aren’t any more seats, and no one is using them. Please go ahead and sit. But GET UP AND MOVE when you see someone that fits those qualifications to take that spot. What pisses me off alongside that, is that you dare sit down, you see an old man with a cane, clinging onto the handles of the bus trying not to fall, and you don’t move. What the fuck is wrong with you.
Not only that, but I saw a woman who was obviously pregnant. She had her purse a backpack and some bags of groceries that she had to carry. Bus came, and you know, it was somewhat packed. With few seats left for people to sit. I offered to help her carry her things and when we get on the bus, the people who were in front of us (we were last in line to get on) takes up all the seats. There was this one kid who was nice enough to give up his spot for the woman.
What I found rude, was that there was another kid, who just looked at her, and just looked away and didn’t move an inch. Sitting in the seat that was meant for the seniors/disabled. No one got up until like maybe 5-10 minutes later after the bus starts moving one young man offers up his seat.
I’m not asking for EVERYONE to jump up and scream for her to take their seat, I’m just saying, you see her get on, don’t just take the longest time to give up your seat. You see someone who needs a seat, you automatically give it to them. Whether two of you get up at the same time or not.
…Yeah, that’s my rant. Again, not saying all of you kids do it, but a majority of times I’ve gotten on the bus in general, I’ve passed CPS schools and that’s what I usually see. I don’t care if you get off in like 2 stops, don’t block places and paths where you shouldn’t. If it’s completely crowded, then that’s a different situation. But really, guys, learn some manners.
Btw, don’t leave trash on the bus either. What is it where random beer bottles on the CTA anyways. It’s rude and disgusting, pick up the trash you have and throw it away at the end stop or hold onto it until you get off or something. It’s gross to sit down and see a soda can next to me and I’m like “Wdf, where did this come from?”
